We have all had our share of unwanted Christmas gifts, writes ilovemydogsomuch
Some exchange or re-gift them, some recycle them, while others donate them. In worst cases, some people choose to dump them into bins, no matter if the gift is a living, breathing creature!
Workers at PetPals were having a usual busy day on Wednesday (26th of December) when this dreaded ‘puppy-found-in-a-bin’ message came through. A volunteer quickly collected the puppy and rushed it to the vet, where he was diagnosed to be malnourished and anemic.
The pup has been christened as Barry Basura and is 4-weeks-old. Ironically, ‘Basura’ means trash in Spanish. Soon, PetPals introduced clueless Barry on their Facebook page where the post was widely viewed, discussed and circulated. People were enraged at the owner for throwing him out on Boxing Day in a bin infested with fleas.
A lot of people also came forward to adopt Barry. A PetPals representative told UNILAD, “Barry was thrown in the bin most likely due to being an unwanted gift. Puppies in bins happens a lot here sadly. Many are killed and not found in time.”
We are thankful to PetPals for acting quick on the rescue and taking good care of Barry. We hope Barry finds a loving forever home soon enough!
