Helping animals finding homes is the major concern for Kris Rotonda.
Kris found his dog Jordan at a Tampa, Florida animal shelter. After he knew she would spend her entire life caged. Jordan and Kris became best friends for 11 years, and then she passed away. After that, he decided to help other animal shelter dogs finding home in order to honor Jordan’s memory.
Kris said: “Jordan was my best friend for a long time. For 11 years, she was a rock for me,” he added: “After her passing, I made her a promise. I’d help pets in need so that they could live meaningful lives spreading love and joy into the hearts of the people that adopted them.”

Kris started a nonprofit program called “Jordan’s Way” to fund shelter dogs in US. After one year of starting his program, he has already donated money enough for a year food for 100 shelters. Which is amazing and very unusual. He wanted to attract the media to get donations from others.
On the other hand, Kris wrote on GoFundMe. “I’m raising awareness that small animal shelters that don’t get government funding need anywhere from $75K-100K per year to keep providing food, medical care, transportation, and shelter to rescue animals. These shelters are run by caring individuals like you and me, and want to see their animals land in a fur-ever home where they can love and be loved for their entire lives.”
Kris also spent 10 whole days and nights inside one of the dog cages in the shelter. He did that to raise awareness for donations for Jordan’s Way.

However, he shelter workers were amazed when Kris asked them if he can go on a live stream on Facebook while he’s in the dog cage. “At first I said, ‘Is this guy crazy? Is this guy crazy?’ Because our kennels are outside,’ said Christine DePaolo, Vice President of the Humane Society of Pasco County.
“With these animals, most of them have been abandoned, some of them are strays. It’s like, with every setback there’s a comeback I always say. And for these dogs it’s the same concept,” Kris said. Christine agrees, adding, “They all have something very special about them. And we’re lucky enough that Kris spends enough time with them for people to actually see that.”

In addition to raising money, Kris’s sleepovers have helped more than a dozen animals get adopted in the past year.
Kris raised money from his sleep over. But also, so many animals got adopted after Kris’s move.
Above all, Kris sacrificed his own comfort for 10 days, which is hard for anyone to do. Hats off for Kris and his Animal warriors team!
