There is nothing more heartbreaking than walking past a dog that is left in a hot car, struggling to breathe and panting frantically to try and cool down. People who leave their animals without any air or water in vehicles need to be stopped and sometimes walking past these cars can urge us to take action – which as of recently was against the law.
Florida, the sunshine state of the US, has decided to make a change in their laws around this situation and are now letting people help out when they see these suffering animals trapped in stuffy and sticky cars. Animals are just too wholesome for this world.
Provided that there is no other way to get to the animals, and emergency services are alerted first, concerned citizens are now able to smash the windows of these cars.

Legally, people are now allowed to let the animals free, as long as they stay with them until the police arrive to take charge from there on.

Yay for the law recognizing the problem and letting us help!

Need. Air!

This is how it feels to be left alone inside a car that is getting hotter by the minute:
Please remember that if you do see an animal left alone in a vehicle on a hot day, call 911 and stay with the animal until help arrives.
