A determined dog helped his owner push a car out of heavy flooding in Glasgow – saving two women in the process.
The Springer Spaniel, called Puck, bravely faced the deluge on Sunday (August 8) with his owner Lori Gillies in Harland Street after two women became trapped in the floods.
In the clip, Lori wades up to the vehicle, thought to be a Volkswagen Estate, to try and move it while Puck swims next to her in deep water.
As she begins to push, the clever pup soon helps by putting his two front paws on the back of the car and joining in.
The vehicle eventually begins to move thanks to the tremendous effort of train driver Lori and her hero sidekick.
Lori, 33, told Daily Record: “Puck and I were out on our usual walk and there was a car that was stuck in the water.
“There were two women inside and I went down to give them a hand.
“We’ve never really had flooding as bad as that there.
“Puck was just swimming next to me and I took my phone out to video him and then he started pushing it.
“Once the handbrake was off it was just a quick push or two and then it started rolling.”
She said her hero pooch was rewarded with a special dinner of meat with gravy and some biscuits.
The clip of the rescue was posted online with some hilarious commentary as the Scotsman filming the scene praised Puck and said “what a dug” [sic].
Narrating the heroics, he said: “The dugs pushing it and all now. Brilliant.
“Aww yes, what a dug man. Look at that.
“Dug’s knackered, having a wee break.”
The footage circulated back to Lori who was amused at the voiceover on the video.
She said her “good deed” for the day had been done and dubbed Puck “the best dog in the whole wide world”.
