There are simply four-legged friends who destroy their dog toys as quickly as possible … Does your dog also chew his toys regularly? The behavior is annoying for you as a dog owner, but your Bello simply lives out its natural needs with it.
You can’t buy a new one as soon as your dog breaks his toy again? Welcome to the club – many owners are familiar with this problem. The result is cuddly toys whose cotton wool filling is spread out in the living room or completely disassembled chew toys.
The veterinarian Dr. Zay Satchu are particularly endangered cuddly toys that squeak or make other noises. Why is that? Dr. Satchu’s explanation: “Dogs with a great hunting instinct ‘hunt’ their toys if their interest is piqued by the squeak.”
For your dog, the toy is its prey
“Other dogs may have copied their destructive rage from another dog. And some are just bored, ”the vet told the animal website“ The Dodo ”. Nevertheless, it is perfectly normal. It simply depicts the behavior that wolves also display in the wild when hunting smaller prey.

Some dog toy manufacturers have responded and offer particularly bite-resistant toys for dogs. Even if these will probably last a little longer: No dog toy will ever be completely indestructible – after all, your dog has made it a mission to destroy its “prey”. And in the vast majority of cases he will manage to do that.
Tip for the right chew toy
Nevertheless, the vet has a tip for dog owners whose four-legged friends chew particularly persistently: Make sure that the toy is not too hard. “A good rule of thumb is that you can press the toy in with your fingernail.” If that doesn’t work, the dog toy is too hard for the Bello.
And: your dog should never swallow parts of the destroyed toy. Therefore, collect the individual parts of the hunted “prey” immediately and dispose of them.
